Judith Beale Scholarship Judith Beale was an archivist and active member of the Society of Florida Archivists (SFA) who passed away in February 2010 after a long illness. Beloved by her student interns and graduate assistants, as well as the faculty and archives staff at The University of Central Florida, Judith was passionate about mentoring students and teaching them about processing archival collections, organizing exhibits and preparing publications.  Many of her former students fondly recall her willingness to listen and guide them on their career paths.  In tribute to Judith’s boundless enthusiasm for the archives profession and her work with students, the annual SFA scholarship was renamed the "Judith Beale Scholarship" in May 2011.   The Society of Florida Archivists is offering the Judith Beale Scholarship for selected students and archival professionals to attend the 2012 SFA annual meeting in Sarasota. Please visit our annual meeting site for more information about the conference.   The scholarship includes free registration at the SFA annual meeting plus a stipend in support of travel and lodging costs. Applicants can be undergraduate students, graduate students or professionals who need financial assistance to attend the SFA Conference. Special consideration will be given to graduate students and individuals new to the archives profession.   Application Procedure Applicants should submit: 1. A one-page letter describing applicant's interest in the scholarship and how it will contribute to their educational and/or career goals. 2. Resume or curriculum vitae. 3. Students should submit a transcript of coursework completed and underway. Unofficial copies of transcripts are acceptable. 4.
