EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FOR COLLECTIONS
Dear SFA Members:
- Are you responsible for collections in a museum, library special collection, archive, archaeological collection, or historic house?
- Do you need to develop an emergency management plan for your organization?
- Would you like to play a leadership role in your community to participate in a regional network to safeguard collections and to help others develop their emergency management plans?
- Would you like to participate in creating a network of collections professionals to call on in an emergency in your region?
The Florida Association of Museums(FAM) was recently selected for an IMLS Connecting to Collections Statewide Implementation Grant. Competitive applications focused on Emergency Management Plans are now open to all interested in participating, as either a mentor or a mentee. FAM is working collaboratively with Florida Department of State, Florida Library Association, FLorida Public Archaeology Network, Florida Trust for Historic Preservation, and Society of Florida Archivists.
If you would like to participate in training and development of emergency management plans for your institution, OR wish to provide mentoring and leadership to others in the development of the plan, please review the attached flyer and follow the weblink in the flyer for an on-line application. Deadline is Oct. 24, 2011.
