- Finding the Flow: Employment Trend Updates & Job Seeker's Workshop hosted by Carady Madden

- Description: In an already competitive field with far too few funds and many qualified individuals, what makes you stand out? Federal hiring in particular saw significant changes in both expectations and opportunities; with some downstream grants still in limbo and increasing cascading vacancies, many other institutions also find themselves treading water in the ever-shifting tides of HR. This two-part workshop will update attendees on resume expectations and hiring trends in the various institutions that archivists may find themselves applying to. You’ll learn how to read a job posting, what to look for, and what to look OUT for. We'll also explore archives-adjacent job posts and so-called "soft skills." During the workshop portion, we’ll dissect your dream job and perform a peer review session on each others’ application materials. Bring your resume or CV and cover letter or a job posting to reference and share. Entry-level and career-pivot participants are highly encouraged to attend.

- Provenance and Evolving Narratives at The Dali Museum with Executive Assistant and Assistant Librarian Sarah Lynch

- Description: At The Dali Museum, The Center for the Avant-garde is a unique resource for scholars, art professionals, collectors and students studying Salvador Dalí, Surrealism and the Avant-garde. The Museum Library, an integral part of these studies, undertakes scholarship and supports scholars in the investigation of the historic Avant-garde and its legacies. The collection within the Museum includes over 2,400 works from every moment and in every medium of Salvador Dali's artistic activity, including oil paintings, many original drawings, book illustrations, artists’ books, prints, sculpture, photos, manuscripts and an extensive archive of documents. Founded with the works collected by A. Reynolds and Eleanor Morse, the Museum has made significant additions to its collection over the years, celebrating the life and art of one of the most influential and innovative artists in history. This puts the institution at a unique advantage and places us at the forefront of Surrealist and Salvador Dali scholarship- having founders with an incredible passion for detail and archiving, this workshop will delve into the resources we make use of to strengthen provenence and curatorial narratives within our practice.
